In number theory[]

It is the smallest Lychrel number, in which it does not form a palindrome through the iterative process of repeatedly reversing its digits and adding the resulting numbers.[2][3]

In science[]

It is also the number of primordial nuclides with energetically allowed baryon number-preserving decay modes.
