Centation refers to the 100th hyperoperation starting from addition. It is equal to the binary function \(\uparrow^{98}\), using Knuth's up-arrow notation. [1] "a centated to b" is also \(\{a,b,98\}\) in BEAF, \(\textrm E[a]\underbrace{1\#1\#1...1\#1\#1}_{97}\#b\) in Hyper-E notation and \(a \rightarrow b \rightarrow 98\) in chained arrow notation.

Centational growth rate is approximately equivalent to \(f_{99}(n)\) in the fast-growing hierarchy.
